Bench & Computerized Electronic Measuring Training: 16hrs/In-Class & In-Shop/3 ICAR POINTS

The purpose of this 2 day class is to make the experienced or new technician more efficient in diagnosis, measuring, and repair of collision damaged vehicles using the computerized measuring system. Vehicle design, collision damage characteristics, and suspension as relates to collision repair are key elements in the understanding structural repairs. With 4 training centers located in the southwest, we are dedicated to meeting your training demands.  Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be eligible for Car-O-Tronic Certification and three I-CAR credit hours. It also meets the requirements for the I-CAR               ProLevel 1.

 Topics covered in the class are as follows:

  • Information of current and future vehicle designs and processes
  • How to identify damage and plan the corrective repairs with a complete understanding of Collision Damage Characteristics
  • Data interpretation will allow the productive usage of the clamping and measuring system
  • Obtain procedures and confidence to diagnose problems related to suspension
  • Full frame mounting and repair will become more effectively performed following the "Hands-on" assignments/labs
  • Brief overview and initial set up of EVO 1,2,3
  • Discussion of the 2015 Ford f150 Aluminum body

Basic Computerized Measuring Training: 8hrs/In-Shop/1 Credit Hour

The purpose of this 1 day training is to cover the basics of the Car-O-Tronic Measuring System. The information that will be taught will be on the measuring system and software only. Instruction on initial set up for the bench clamps, and full frame mounting are not covered. The maximum number of techs per session is 5. The completion of this course is worth one I-CAR credit hour. Some tasks that will be completed in this training are:

  • Print Data Sheets, Zoom Screen, Print Photo Sheet
  • Proceed to Initial Measurement
  • Centering Interpretation
  • Proceed to Measuring Lower Body
  • Upper Body Measuring/using HMP
  • Measuring Comparative/Absolute
  • Brief overview and initial set up of EVO 1,2,3
  • Obtaining Printouts
  • Additional Screen Functions and Navigation
  • Basic Care and Maintenance

Basic Bench Training: 8hrs/In-Shop

The purpose of this 1 day training course is to cover the basics of Benchrack set-up. The course is worth one I-Car credit hour under the Car-O-Liner Academy Program. Topics in the course are as followed:

  • Drive on Rack
  • Raise and Lower Rack with Vehicle on Bench
  • Vehicle Protection While Lifting
  • Raising Vehicle from Rack for Mounting/Dismounting (Pillar and Selson Jacks)
  • Correctly Identify Clamping Data Information
  • Installation of Bench Arms and Standard Clamps
  • Correctly Identify Clamping Data Information
  • Mounting and Anchoring a Full Frame Vehicle
  • Loading a Disabled Vehicle on to the Bench
  • Attaching, Operating and Removal of Draw-Aligner to Bench
  • Basic care and maintenance

Basic Speed Rack Training: 8hrs/In-Shop

The purpose of this 1 day training course is to cover to basics of the Speed Rack. The course is worth one I-CAR credit hour under the Car-O-Liner Academy Program. Topics in this course are as followed:

  • Raise and Lower Rack with Vehicle on Rack
  • Vehicle Protection while Lifting
  • Raising Vehicle from Rack for Mounting/Dismounting
  • Correctly Identify Clamping Data Information
  • Installation of Bench Arms and Standard Clamps
  • Correctly Identify Specialized Clamping from Data Sheet
  • Loading a Disabled Vehicle on to the Bench
  • Attaching, Operating and Removal of Draw-Aligner to Bench
  • Basic care and maintenance

Resistance Welding Training

The purpose of this 7 hour training course is to cover the entire use of the equipment. This covers more than only the basics. It is worth one I-CAR credit hour under the Car-O-Liner Academy Programs. This course meets the requirements for the I-CAR ProLevel 1. Topics that will be covered are as followed:

  • Welding Safety and Restrictions
  • Starting the Welder and Welding Modes
  • Air Pressure Settings
  • Job Preparation, Grounding, Shunting
  • Two-sided Spot Welding, C-arms, A-Tong Adaptor, Single-Side Operation (welding, dent pulling, weld-ons, shrinking)
  • Care, maintenance and Electrode Changes
  • Testing Weld Strength (Peel Test, Twist Test, On-Vehicle Test)
  • Welding Multiple Thicknesses (Uni-sides, Rails, Rockers, etc.)
  • Care and Maintenance
